The dates for our July 2025 Long Beach regional are finally corrected on the ACBL Find a Tournament website.

I had a meeting during the Ventura Regional and went over details about the 2025 regional.

One of the more pleasurable tasks I get to do as president is to nominate individuals for our district’s ACBL Goodwill Award.

Good news! The reports are essentially all in and we have made money on the July Long Beach regional. We made just over $2000.

As of this writing, we still do not know the financial status of the 2024 Long Beach Regional (and may well be able to do a complete accounting with the next month). It is possible that we made a small amount of money,

Our July regional will be from Monday July 1 through Sunday July 7 at the Long Beach Hilton. There should be a flyer for the regional elsewhere in this newsletter. This is a great place to earn red and gold points and to see friends again.

There will be an ALACBU (District 23) meeting
on May 11 from 9:30 AM to11:30 AM. It will be a hybrid meeting.

D23 had plans for the GNTs to be held on April 6 and 7. There were some unavoidable
snags. GNT Chair Walt Schafer has sprung into action and isclose to having the problem
solved. The most likely scenario is that the GNTs will be held on Saturday April 13 and Sunday April 14 at the Long Beach Bridge Center,

We will have an ALACBU meeting at 10:00 AM on January 20, 2024. It will be a
hybrid meeting, both online and live. The live meeting will be at the Long Beach Bridge Club, 4782 Pacific Coast Highway,
Long Beach (562-498-8113.

Mitch Dunitz frequently gets mentioned because of his bridge expertise. Mitch did well again, he finished well again in the Atlanta national. Mitch was on the team which finished third in the prestigious North American Swiss.
